I snapped this at Adidas & Cashmere Agency Present: Respect The West a few weeks back.  YG got down, as did Dom Kennedy and Kendrick Lamar.  West Coast hip hop clearly has a prominent future…

More to come.

FINALLY.  Neighborhood Nip Hussle is back with a new tape.  The first “Marathon” dropped last December, and truthfully whenever I need to bang Hussle I’ve bumped that, but I’ve been wondering when dude was gonna drop some new new.

Well here it is.  “The Marathon Continues.”  Click the album art for a download link and grace yourself with some fire.

Shouts out to the venerable SK for the connect.

A small sampling of my photog skills.  Taken this year at SXSW.  Artists featured include:  Kendrick Lamar, Freddie Gibbs, Snoop Dogg, Jay Rock, Schoolboy Q, Daz, Kurupt, and Warren G.

Yup, Los is “Finally Here”, and damn, this track is SUPA hottttt.  I think my dude is FINALLY gonna blow.

I’ve been known to play the shit out of hot records, and I’m wondering if I’ll ever get tired of this shit right here…  Very excited for Los right now.

Shouts out to Swagga Boy.

This is supa hot…

I know.  I’m late…  But I’ve been bangin Los since the day.  Like back in 08.

Hopefully dude is finally next to blow because I’m fairly tired of explaining who he is…

See for yourself.

P.S……

Before today, I didn’t really know much about who Jerry Weintraub is, or how he really revolutionized the entertainment industry.  But this dude was/is HEAVY in the game.

I haven’t been able to focus much today, so I decided to peep this HBO documentary about Jerry titled “His Way”, and let me tell you, this shit is truthful.  I’m beyond inspired right now.

Anyways, if you’re in anyway involved in the entertainment industry, whether it be music, film, or media, you need to educate yourself about the career of Jerry Weintraub.

Serious…

Just signed up to start training at Freddie Roach’s legendary Wild Card Boxing Club in Hollywood.  While I most definitely don’t foresee myself trading punches with my boy Amir Kahn, I’m definitely ready to get my swoll on…

Good day.

:-)

Budge’s office is SOOOOO mobile…

Such a techy.

:-)

Just posted this hot new mixtape on one of the freshest new music + culture blogs I get down with, Brute-iful.

CHECK IT OUT!

Over The Years: Budge + Random Assortment of Artists {Slideshow}

Just a small sampling of pics of me with a few of the hottest artists I’ve covered over the years.

This is just the beginning.  In the coming days, weeks, and months, I’ll be unleashing all sorts of dope media featuring the hottest acts in music.

Come back soon!

:-)

Oh shooottt! That new Budge Rodriguez fitted has just arrived.

Keepin it "Budge Reinhold" @ the Sunset Marquee Hotel yesterday with none other than Nasty Nas and Damian Marley. I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to film a quick URB viral spot with the two legends (editing now...).

Will def post "herr" as soon as its ready.

"Respect." -Damian Marley

(above) Actor, Judge Reinhold

"Budge Reinhold" best integration of the "Budge" nickname since, well since "Budge Rodriguez" was coined...
Except, Judge Reinhold is very clearly, WAY more "Budge" than 'Pudge' Rodriguez. So, maybe I should change my name? ....

Thank you.

Randall Bailey might not be an elite fighter anymore, but the homie still has ridiculous two-fisted punching power.

Coming off a loss in a great fight last year, it took him 90 seconds or so to KO this bum...

Damn. In the madness that is "The Budge Life", I didn't even realize this had dropped yet... I got lucky and randomly caught him speaking at UCLA last summer, and he read an excerpt from this book. Looking forward to coppin that ASAP...

It's 2010 and Budge is officially on the grid. Very clearly, this is my first post of the year, so I just want to succinctly give readers an idea of what the "Budge Mindframe" is, transitioning from 2009 to 2010...

...In 2009, the main focus, or "theme" if you will, was "Infrastructure." I spent a great majority of the year building an infrastructure for what I hope will ultimately be a world-changing media conglomerate.

In 2010, the focus/theme is "Connectivity". I am now tasked with ensuring we establish and maintain connectivity between multiple media platforms.

While this idea may seem general, or to some people, even vague, I just want every reader to take a mental note of the logo brandished above, and remember the following quote:

"All the pieces matter." - Lester Freeman, "The Wire"

- Posted from an Xtrovertd iTouch
Connectivity is mobile. :-)

Its been about nine months since my last day at URB, a day which set in motion a series of events ultimately leading to the inception of my first and only media company, Xtrovert Industries, LLC. From the outset, my goal was to integrate the knowledge of modern media constructs I'd learned at URB, and use it to build a legacy media company of my own, whose foundation would be the hard work, intellect, and forward-thinking of my generation of peers.

In this new digital age, college students in the 17-25 age group have more power and freedom than ever. We attend universities with nearly unlimited resources that provide unlimited opportunity. Free and low-cost media tools are available for us to manipulate in ways previously unimaginable, which allow us to connect and build with peers around the globe.

"Our youth makes us cool. Our intelligence makes us valuable. And our drive to succeed make us almighty." -Budge Rodriguez

Until next time, STAY TUNED.....

Like I said in the URB Blog: (thats right I'm quoting myself...)

"I wasn't able to get this post up during the week due to a hectic work schedule, and because I wanted to have at least one straight through listen of the tape so I could have some credible commentary for this prestigious blog.

So, without further adeu, here is URB's belated presentation of DJ Skee's newest mixtape, MIDWESTGANGSTABOXFRAMECADILLACMUZIK, by feature emcee, Freddie Gibbs.

Representing Gary, Indiana, the hometown of a certain recently departed "King of Pop," Freddie Gibbs is gangster rap's best hope for survival in this new digital age of music. Being that blogs are supposed to be succinct, I don't want to overload you with information, but just know that if you like UGK, Ice Cube, Bone Thugs N Harmony, Tupac, or all the above, then you will like Freddie Gibbs.

Download this mixtape from the link above, and stay tuned later in the week for a full length review.

P.S. County Bounce is my shit!

** Budge's Note: Have medical marijuana and either peach Optimos or grape Swishers readily available while listening to this tape."

Heres a new track off Freddie Gibbs' upcoming mixtape MIDWESTGANGSTABOXFRAMECADILLACMUZIK.

Thank you Lambo. Shouts out to Freddie Gibbs.

P.S. I'm uber-stoked for this Skee tape, which apparently drops at the end of the month, and I'm glad Skee is endorsing the young G.I. native. Internet people and real people fully slept on Freddie's last mixtape The Miseducation of Freddie Gibbs.

I went with friends and family this weekend to attend the Downtown Film Festival's showing of  the highly-acclaimed Independent Film, My Suicide.  While the opening montage that provided background for the movie was a bit drawn out and hectic, overall it was an amazing film put together the amazing people at Regenerate.

I urge any young person following this blog, to find a show time and check it out.  Its funny, its powerful, happy, and sad all at the same time, and I promise you will not only enjoy it, but relate to it in a substantial way as well.

Read this great article over the weekend in the Washington Post.  Its a great explanation about how Facebook's acquisition of Friend Feed will prove to be a pivotal move in its competition with Twitter, by providing a single portal to update an individual's entire social network rather than manually updating each one.

If you are any way involved in media in 2009, this is definitely a must read...

Bout to go cop this new issue of Beyond Race Magazine, featuring my boys Keelay & Zaire.  Mayer Hawthorne graces the cover, which I imagine would be his first, so congrats to him.  Met dude briefly this year at SXSW, and seemed like an overall cool cat, so definitely check out his music. (Its also dope.)

I'd like to introduce J-Mo, a fresh new artist from Detroit. Expect big things from dude, not to mention more than a few Xtrovert collabs.

I'll have more things J-Mo in the coming days and weeks. In the meantime, check out his MySpace and click the player below to listen to my favorite track of his called "You Different." Shit is serious.

Been heavy on the grind while trying to keep my creative assets simple, fly, and classy.

Peep the new logo (and banner above).

P.S. You know in due time that logo is gonna look mighty fly when it meets 59/50... :)

Criticisms? Holler at ME.

(Top: Kelly Pavlik puts Zertuche to SLEEP!)
(Bottom:  Paul Williams NASTY 1st Round KO of Kolle)

Just caught the breaking news over at ESPN.  Undisputed Middleweight Champion of the World Kelly "The Ghost" Pavlik has agreed to defend his title against Paul "The Punisher" Williams on October 3 on HBO.   Kelly Pavlik has been one of my favorite fighters since he burst onto the scene in 07 with three knockouts of world class fighters, including his upset KO of Jermain Taylor to win the middleweight championship.

Paul Williams is also one of my top five favorite fighters in the game today.  He's a throwback fighter that fights anyone at any weight, and the fact that he's facing Pavlik is proof of that.  This fight has SLUGFEST written all over it, and as somewhat of a boxing aficionado I can guarantee you that this fight WILL NOT go the full 12 rounds.

Click here to read the full ESPN article with all the details.

Think before you twit...
August 10, 08:06 PM

The first time I heard Los spit was last summer, at the tail end of the 'A Milli' craze when every rapper and their mother was remixing Wayne's hit song.  I was still at URB, when my boy sent me this YouTube clip of Los absolutely merking the now somewhat infamous Banglahdesh beat.  At the time, I absolutely did not want to hear anymore versions of the song, but thankfully I trusted the source because shit was hot.

Now, thanks to Twitter I was alerted to this LINK where you can download (for free) Los's new mixtape, Welcome To Swaggsville.  (If you're not registered to DatPiff, HERE is a Z-share link.)

Also, just in case you don't trust Budge and need a preview, click the link below to download my favorite cut off the mixtape.  This is what you call "Goin in" on a beat. Straight up.

My team at it again!

Been following Drake's career since it came to America.  When I worked at URB, I helped get him some of his first American press.  I've pumped his music through any media I've been affiliated with, and my company live streamed a portion of what has become a legendary show in Atlanta back in May.  I'm goddamn amazed by the Beatle-type fan support he continues to garner.  I always knew when URB did not put him on the cover that Fader would.  8 months later, here it is.

Congrats Drake.  Shouts out to Oliver @ OVO!
